Flu Recovery And A New Interview

This winter has been a rough one for the Tako family. For one, the weather has been absolutely miserable here in the Pacific Northwest. As I mentioned in a previous post we only had three days without rain or snow in January!
That was rough. Imagine spending an entire month indoors (without a single day of sunshine), and you’ll understand how things went down in January.
On top of that, the whole family ended-up catching the flu this February, which made February something of a lost month when it came to blogging — my blog posting frequency definitely slowed down over the last few weeks. Sorry about that!
I’ve been feeling very under the weather. The flu was particularly rough this year (despite everyone in the family getting flu-shots) and I couldn’t force myself to the keyboard when all I wanted to do was lay in bed all day.
I’ll spare you the disgusting details, but it’s one of the worst illnesses I’ve ever had.
Three weeks later and I’m now finally on the road to recovery! I’m not back to 100% health yet, but I didn’t want to skip another post on this blog and leave everyone hanging.
In the meantime, you can read a little interview I did over at RetireBy40.org. Even if you’re a long time reader you might find this interview interesting. It covers some areas of my early “career” I haven’t previously written about: (click on the image below)
At the very least the interview should give you something to read until I’m feeling a little better. With luck, that’s going to be really soon!
And to everyone suffering from the flu (or other illness) this winter — Hang in there! Spring is just around the corner!

Sorry to hear that Tako, the flu is nothing to mess with. Get better soon and brighter days are ahead!
Thanks Dave! Hopefully we all recover soon!
I hope you feel a lot better soon. I really enjoy your writings.
Thanks k!
The flu really stinks. Glad you are on the mend. Do a lizard a solid and post picks of the delicious soups you make to nurse yourself back to health. The internet is FOR pix of food.
Coming soon Financial Velociraptor!
Sorry to hear about the flu running rampant in the household – that’s never fun! Hang in there!
Thanks Jim! Do they get a flu season in Panama? The climate is so regular there, I would guess there isn’t.
I don’t know the answer for sure, but I haven’t heard anyone talk about it. But you’re right – with the temperature being pretty constant year-round, I doubt it. 🙂
I hope everyone feels better soon.
We got sick too, but it was just a minor cold. The kids are passing it around.
Wow, you guys are lucky if you missed out on the flu this year. It was bad.
I hope you and your family a speedy recovery.
You should listen to your body and rest up.
I have struggled with a bad immune system all my life and my body requires a lot more rest than most people, so I know what you are going through.
Thanks Pete! I’ll do my best to rest up!
Sorry about your sickness. What do you take to beat the bug ? At my work, we’ve had 2 rounds (at least) of flu at the office. I was sick as well.
PS. I’m following several authors on twitter and on youtube I follow peak prosperity. The new coronavirus is yet to hit the US. News coverage is sub, Singapore is even better news transparency.
Sorry to hear you and the family got sick. This year’s flu was vicious and we got our shots too. For us somehow it seemed to both affect the stomach and the respiratory system which is a really bad combo. At some point we started to think it was so bad it could be Covid-19. Speaking of which – what do you think of it? Seems like all stocks are going on sale. Especially the cruise ship stocks are hit hard (for obvious reasons). Some of them are pretty solid companies, and since this too shall pass, there may be some opportunities.
Hope you feel 100% again soon!
Thanks Abu Iskander!
Feel better soon, our household’s been going through the same thing as you guys too. 🙁
Ugh, sorry to hear that Bob! It’s a pretty rough one this year. Hope you heal up soon!
